ISLAMABAD – Pakistan’s security forces intensified Operation Shaban in Balochistan, killing 102 militants since July 5 in sweeping counterterrorism campaign that officials say will continue until every terrorist network operating in the province is dismantled.
The latest operations, jointly conducted by the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan, and police, eliminated 16 militants within the past 24 hours, according to security sources. Seven militants were killed during the most recent operation, following the elimination of nine others in earlier engagements.

Officials identified the slain militants as members of Fitna al-Khawarij, saying they established hideouts in Balochistan’s rugged mountains and remote terrain. Security forces launched coordinated ground assaults backed by aerial strikes, targeting the militants’ strongholds in a sustained effort to dismantle their operational infrastructure.
security officials said 64 militants have been killed under Operation Shaban, while the overall toll has reached 102 after including intelligence-based operations conducted across the province since July 5. Authorities said the offensive remains underway and will continue until the last terrorist is eliminated from Balochistan.
The latest gains come as Pakistan ramps up its nationwide counterterrorism campaign amid growing concerns over cross-border militancy and externally backed militant networks.
The intensified offensive follows strong warning from Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir, who recently declared that terrorism backed by hostile intelligence agencies would be crushed with the “full might of the state.”
Field Marhsal said Pakistan’s armed forces remain fully alert to attempts by hostile foreign agencies to destabilise the country through proxy organisations. He asserted that such networks would not be allowed to undermine Pakistan’s internal security or economic progress, warning that any terrorism originating from across the border would be met with an uncompromising state response.
