QUETTA – Nine terrorists were killed during a joint operation conducted by the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps Balochistan and police forces as part of the ongoing Operation Shaban in Balochistan, according to security sources.
The sources said security forces carried out coordinated aerial and ground operations against terrorists hiding in mountainous areas of the province. With the latest action, the reported number of militants killed during Operation Shabaan has reached 52.
Security officials further claimed that a total of 88 militants have been killed in Operation Shabaan and other related operations since July 5. They added that the operation will continue until the last militant is eliminated from the area.
The sources said the operations were conducted using intelligence-based planning, aerial surveillance and coordinated ground movements to target suspected militant hideouts.
Earlier, security forces had also reported killing additional militants in separate operations over the previous days, causing significant damage to militant networks. Authorities said an attempted attack on a police station in the Zaidi area of Khuzdar was also foiled through timely action.
