The Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) on Tuesday, September 2, organized the Oman-Pakistan Business Forum, which emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation and joint investment between the private sectors of both countries in projects that support economic diversification.
The forum called for creating a favorable and attractive investment climate while exploring further opportunities enhanced by promising economic conditions.
The event was attended by Eng. Hammoud bin Salim Al-Saadi, Second Vice-Chairman of the OCCI Board, H.E. Naveed Safdar Bukhari, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Oman, Saqib Fayyaz Magoon, First Vice President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry and Head of the Pakistani delegation, along with a number of Omani and Pakistani business leaders. Discussions explored cooperation in diverse sectors including food security, information and communication technology, education, textiles, healthcare, construction, tourism, automotive, import and export, and sports goods.
Eng. Hammoud Al-Saadi said the forum aims to build stronger bridges of cooperation and partnership, opening wider horizons for economic, trade, and investment integration that reflect the two countries’ long-standing historical ties. H.E. Naveed Safdar Bukhari stressed that the forum is not only a platform for exchanging ideas but also a practical step toward strengthening trade and investment partnerships, describing Oman as a strategic partner due to its stability and strategic location.
For his part, Saqib Fayyaz Magoon affirmed that both sides share a strong determination to enhance their economic and trade partnership, urging the business communities to take advantage of mutual incentives and facilities in line with Oman Vision 2040.
The forum also featured a presentation by Aman Paracha, Vice President of FPCCI, highlighting Pakistan’s economic developments and investment incentives, as well as B2B meetings between business leaders from both countries to explore joint opportunities.
