OIC Secretary-General participates in Executive Committee meeting of COMSTECH


Mr. Hissein Brahim Taha, the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation participated in the Thirty-First Executive Committee meeting of COMSTECH held virtually at Aiwan-e-Sadr. A number of OIC Ministers responsible for STI, OIC Institutions and other international partners, attended the meeting virtually.

President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Dr. Arif Alvi welcomed the participants and stressed on the importance of STI for the Ummah.

H.E. the Secretary-General in his remarks appreciated His Excellency the President of Islamic Republic of Pakistan Dr Arif Alvi who graciously chaired the 31st meeting of the Executive Committee of COMSTECH. He also appreciated the COMSTECH under the leadership of its Coordinator General, Prof. Mohammad Iqbal Choudhry for his role in promoting among Member States in the sphere of Science & Technology and Health as per its mandate and strategic vision.

H.E. the Secretary-General while emphasizing the critical importance of Science and Technology, assured the participants that the OIC General Secretariat would leave no stone unturned to bring S&T to the forefront and make it the cornerstone of the socio-economic advancement.

The meeting in its deliberations, considered and approved a number of important documents such as the confirmation of the Decisions of the Thirtieth meeting of COMSTECH Executive Meeting, review the Agendas and implementation plans of the 1st and 2nd OIC Summits on Science and Technology and considered reports presented by the Coordinator General of the COMSTECH.
