OEC, Andalusia Arabia sign MoU to facilitate recruitment of Pakistani healthcare workers in Saudi Arabia

Oec Andalusia Arabia Sign Mou To Facilitate Recruitment Of Pakistani Healthcare Workers In Saudi Arabia

JEDDAH – In a significant stride toward deepening bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was formally signed between the Pakistan’s Overseas Employment Corporation (OEC) and the kingdom’s Andalusia Arabia for Medical Services.

The agreement was signed on behalf of the OEC by His Excellency Syed Mustafa Rabbani, Consul General of Pakistan, Jeddah.

The MoU establishes a framework to facilitate the recruitment and placement of qualified Pakistani physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals within the Kingdom, thereby paving the way for enhanced employment opportunities for Pakistan’s skilled medical workforce abroad.

This landmark accord underscores the enduring and fraternal ties between the two nations, reinforcing avenues of institutional collaboration in the healthcare sector while simultaneously contributing to the augmentation of foreign exchange reserves and remittance inflows to Pakistan.

Under the agreement, Pakistani doctors, nurses and paramedical staff will be recruited for employment in Saudi Arabia. The initiative is expected to expand formal and secure employment opportunities for Pakistani medical professionals in the country.

However, experts have stressed the importance of thoroughly verifying the credentials and professional experience of applicants in light of previous incidents.

In the past, Pakistani nurses have reportedly been deported from Saudi Arabia over fake documents.

The new recruitment process is therefore expected to be conducted on merit, with transparency and through official channels.

The approach is aimed at providing Pakistani professionals with better employment opportunities while also safeguarding Pakistan’s reputation abroad.
