QUETTA – Security forces and the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) have carried out separate operations against suspected militants in Balochistan, killed nine terrorists.
n Mastung, security forces conducted an operation against “Fitna al-Hindustan” terrorist and killed three, including a commander identified as Naqeeb.
Security sources said the terrorists’ vehicle was targeted using a quadcopter during the operation. The strike destroyed the vehicle and killed all three militants inside, according to the sources.
The security forces reiterated their resolve to continue operations against terrorism, saying the campaign would continue until the last militant is eliminated.
Meanwhile, the CTD carried out an intelligence-based operation in an area of Pishin. Six terrorists were killed during an exchange of fire.
The firefight also left four CTD personnel injured. The spokesperson said the suspects were affiliated with a banned organisation and that weapons and explosives were recovered from the site.
According to the CTD, the militants killed in the operation were allegedly involved in attacks against security personnel and civilians.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has appreciated the security forces for successful operations against terrorists.
