New route of electric bus approved: Memon

The Sindh government has announced a new electric bus route from Malir Cantt gate number 5 to Numaish Chowrangi which will provide travel facilities to the general public. Provincial Minister of Transport and Mass Transit Sharjeel Inam Memon, in a statement, said that the new electric bus route will cover 18 km via Gulistan Johar, Millennium Mall.

The new electric bus route has been launched from Monday which will provide travel facilities to the public, Sharjeel Memon said. He said that the PPPs provincial government was fully aware of the travel issues faced by the people. Providing affordable and comfortable travel facility to the public is the top priority of the government, Memon said.Sindh Information, Transport and Mass Transit Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has emphasized the importance of prioritizing public transport and said public transport must be focused on and problems related to public transport and travel should be given a priority. He said the residents of Karachi were in need of additional buses, and held out the assurance that the government would persist in taking necessary measures to address this requirement.

Memon emphasized the government’s objective of providing maximum relief to the public during this period of inflation.Sindh Minister of Information, Transport and Mass Transit, Sharjeel Inam Memon said that the Sindh government was determined to complete BRT Red Line project at the earliest to solve issues of public transport in Karachi.

He said that Asian Development Bank was providing financial support for the project that was envisaged considering the population of Karachi city and it would cater the transportation needs of the metropolis for the next 60 to 70 years.
