LAHORE – Cooking oil prices in the wholesale market of Pakistan have seen another increase, putting an additional burden on masses amid rising inflation.
Reports said the price of a 5-liter cooking oil tin has risen by Rs100, while various grades of 16-liter cans have also become more expensive.
The price of a top-grade 16-liter can has increased by Rs150, while the price of second-grade cans has also gone up by Rs150. The price of third-grade 16-liter cans has surged by Rs200.
As a result of these increases, the cost of a 5-liter cooking oil tin has gone up from Rs2,760 to Rs2,860.
For the 16-liter cans, the price of a first-grade can has surged from Rs8,420 to Rs8,570, the second-grade can has increased from Rs8,150 to Rs8,300, and the third-grade can is now priced at Rs8,000, up from Rs7,800.
The continuous rise in cooking oil prices is adding to the financial strain of citizens, and with the increase in wholesale prices, it is expected that retail prices will soon follow suit.
