The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has concluded a public hearing regarding the Quarterly Tariff Adjustment (QTA) for the period spanning from October 2023 to December 2023, the second quarter of the fiscal year 2024. This request was submitted by XWDISCOS and encompasses various charges related to system operations.

In accordance with government directives, the final decision issued by NEPRA and subsequently ratified by the Government of Pakistan (GOP) will be applicable to all customers of distribution companies, including Karachi Electric (KE). The forthcoming notification will specify the amount to be reflected in customer bills, along with the duration for which these charges will be applicable. Given the regulated nature of the power sector, electricity costs and associated charges are determined by NEPRA and officially communicated by the Government of Pakistan. It’s important to note that individual Distribution Companies lack the authority to influence this process or enact unilateral changes.
