Mushaal Hussein Mullick, Chairperson, Peace and Cultural Organization (PCO), has hit out at the Narendra Modi-led fascist government for its nefarious plan to implement the controversial 2019 Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) weeks before seeking a third term, terming it part of the larger Hindutva communal agenda to target the Muslims of India.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Mushaal, who is the wife of illegally detained JKLF chief Mohammad Yasin Malik, sounded alarms that the CAA passed by the BJP government in December 2019 and now enforced ahead of the general elections, could risk the lives of millions of Muslim in India because they would not let its implementation at any cost.

She denounced the supremacist BJP government’s decision to enforce the CAA under a malicious plot and a deliberate attempt to further ignite the flames of communal strife and disenfranchise Muslims for political mileage.

Mushaal warned that the controversial move would further destabilize the region because it could be used as a tool to justify oppression and repression against Muslims of India.

She went on to say that the unconstitutional nature of granting citizenship selectively to non-Muslim migrants from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Pakistan could further exacerbate problems of the Muslims of India who were being deprived of all basic and constitutional rights.

Mushaal said that the CAA Rules, 2024, were arbitrary and confer an unfair advantage upon a specific class of individuals solely based on their religious identity.

She urged that the world powers, UN bodies and human rights organizations should take cognizanance of the situation and stop Modi from enforcing the controversial law or else no one would save the region from the flames of unending war.—KMS
