Murree continued to shiver at -1°C and Lahore at 2°C as freezing weather prevailed in Punjab on Tuesday.
Amid icy conditions, moderate to dense fog prevailed over Lahore and the province’s plains.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan.
Under these conditions, mainly cold and dry weather is expected in Murree, Lahore and most parts of Punjab on Tuesday evening and night, as well as on Wednesday and Thursday. Frost will likely occur in the Potohar region during the morning hours.
Moderate to dense fog will likely persist over Sialkot, Narowal, Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Okara, Kasur, Pakpattan, Sahiwal, Khanewal, Faisalabad, Jhang, Mianwali, Layyah, Bhakkar, Noorpur Thal, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Shorkot, Multan, Kot Addu, Bahawalnagar, Khanpur, Bahawalpur and Rahim Yar Khan.
Murree’s minimum temperature will likely remain between -02°C and 0°C on Wednesday and between -01°C and 01°C on Thursday.
Lahore’s minimum temperature will likely remain between 01°C and 03°C on Wednesday and between 02°C and 04°C on Thursday.
Meanwhile, mainly cold and dry weather persisted in most parts of the province during the last 24 hours. Freezing weather prevailed in Murree, Galyat and upper districts. Frost occurred in parts of the Potohar region. Moderate to dense fog/smog persisted in Lahore and the plains of the province.
Murree remained the coldest place in the province, where the temperature dropped 01°C below the freezing point. Minimum temperature in Sahiwal and Faisalabad was recorded at 01°C.
In Murree, the minimum temperature was recorded at -01°C. Relative humidity in the morning was recorded at 50 per cent.
In Lahore, the minimum temperature was recorded at 02°C. Relative humidity in the morning was recorded at 100 per cent.
