BEIJING – Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Thursday visited the Beijing Public Security Passport Bureau, where he reviewed China’s passport issuance and immigration system and was briefed on its fast-track “one-window” service model.
Upon his arrival, the minister was received by Director General Sun Yu. Mohsin Naqvi toured various sections of the Exit and Entry Administration Bureau and observed the operational workflow of passport issuance and immigration processing.
During the visit, the interior minister was given a detailed briefing on China’s immigration policies, including the complete process from passport application to printing. He was also informed about procedures related to the entry, stay and departure of foreign nationals in China. Officials explained how the one-window facility ensures swift and efficient passport and immigration services.

Mohsin Naqvi appreciated the bureau’s highly efficient and rapid system, terming the Chinese entry-exit mechanism effective, well-coordinated and commendably fast. He said Pakistan has also made its passport and immigration system faster and more foolproof, adding that enhanced security features would be introduced in Pakistani passports to curb forgery.
He was further briefed that Pakistan’s modern entry-exit control system is being developed on the lines of the Beijing model. Officials informed him that after an online application, passports are delivered to citizens within 24 hours, while immigration bureaux operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to facilitate the public.

The minister was also informed that multilingual services and guidance systems have simplified and increased transparency in documentation procedures for foreign nationals. Digital tracking and real-time updates enable applicants to stay informed about the progress of their applications.
