Shaheen Chowk Underpass completed in record time to be inaugurated tomorrow
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi Monday morning visited the Shaheen Chowk Underpass and reviewed the finishing stage of the mega project.
Mohsin Naqvi inspected the work at the site and reviewed the carpeting work.
Interior Minister also examined the horticulture and landscaping around the project and instructed that additional plants should be planted in the surrounding areas. He stated that the Shaheen Chowk Underpass will be inaugurated for traffic on Wednesday (December 31).
The underpass will permanently resolve the long-standing traffic problem, provide great ease to commuters, and help eliminate traffic jams.
Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Mohammad Ali Randhawa provided a detailed briefing to the Interior Minister regarding the project. Also present were the Chairman CDA, IG Islamabad Police, Member Engineering CDA, and other relevant officials.
Sources told Pakistan Observer that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has agreed to inaugurate the underpass and this is going to be the second inauguration of a mega project within one month as earlier on Dec 18 Prime Minister Sharif inaugurated 1.1-km T-Chowk Flyover.
