Minister opens TCV drive

Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid on Monday inaugurated the Typhoid Conjugate Vaccine (TCV) Campaign at Mian Mir Hospital here. Punjab Primary and Secondary Healthcare Secretary Capt (r) Usman Younis, Deputy Secretary Ms Rafia Haider, Deputy Secretary Hafiz Qaiser Abbas, CEO (Health) Lahore, department officials and vaccinators. A vaccinator administered typhoid vaccine to a child there. The health minister said that for the first time in history, a Typhoid vaccine campaign has been started. “The campaign will continue from February 1 to 15 in 12 districts of Punjab. The campaign is being carried out in 12 districts including Lahore, Mianwali, Dera Ghazi Khan, Gujranwala, Layyah and Pakpatten.

We are utilizing all available resources to make this campaign a success. In the special campaign, over 20 million children between 9 months to 15 years of age shall be administered typhoid vaccine. Parents can get their children vaccinated by visiting sites set up by department teams and fixed EPI Centers.
