Mayor Karachi Wasim Akhtar said Karachi contributes in national exchequer with a huge amount of Rs 350 billion and still no one paid attention on resolving its issues. I alone could not make it as the business community should come forward to raise its voice and use its influence for resolving the problems of the city. Environmental pollution in Karachi touching dangerous level, who would focus this? About 23223 trees planted in the Kidney hil park to make this hill a great city forest.
He expressed these views while speaking at the inauguration of the Kidney hill (Ahmed Ali park) on Saturday. Metropolitan Commissioner Dr Syed Saif ur Rehman, renowned trader Jamil Yousuf, Shahid Feroz and Muhammad Zubair were also present on this occasion. Mayor Karachi said that kmc had the infrastructure but no resources to solve the problems. Citizens of Karachi wants that their problems should be resolved.
The federal and provincial government should own this city.
He said the local bodies system was meant to progress of the country, however in our country this system has been destroyed only for the benefit of the national assembly members.
Metropolitan Commissioner Dr Syed Saif ur Rehman said we made many parks but this park gave a satisfaction that is unique and unprecedented. Within a period of 80 days my team completed this project without utilizing any resources.
