Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) will lose one more cricketer as their star fast bowler Lasith Malinga retires during the home series against Bangladesh.
According to the sources close to the 35-year-old right arm bowler, he has got Australia’s Permanent Residency (PR) and will move with his family there after the retirement.
“He may also take up some coaching assignment in Australia”, the source further added. Malinga is already in Australia now and likely to meet few of his friends there on Saturday.
He has already spoken the chief selector (Ashantha de Mel) from Australia and in formed about his date of arrival (July 22) in Sri Lanka to play the ODI series beginning on July 26.
There have been number of Sri lankan cricketers who, after their retirement have moved to Sri Lanka and sought some coaching stints. One more name will be added to this.
