LAHORE – Traffic authorities in Lahore have announced special arrangements ahead of Eid Miladun Nabi (PBUH) processions, with diversions and restrictions planned to facilitate the movement of participants and maintain traffic flow.
Pakistan will observe the Eid Miladun Nabi tomorrow, August 26, with religious zeal and zest.
Lahore Traffic Update August 26
In Lahore, five major processions are scheduled to take place. The largest will begin from Noori Building near the railway station and proceed towards Data Darbar.
Another procession will travel from Delhi Gate to Data Darbar, while processions from Islam Pura Akhri Masjid and Shiller Chowk, Baghbanpura, will also converge at Data Darbar. A procession starting from Data Darbar will conclude near Masjid Rahmatul Aalameen at Battery Stop.
Traffic police said 16 DSPs, 400 inspectors and more than 1,400 wardens and patrolling officers will be deployed under the supervision of zonal SSPs.
Authorities said roads would not be completely closed, while traffic would be diverted at key points. Motorists will be kept informed through FM, the Rasta app and electronic and social media platforms.
Karachi Traffic Update
In Karachi, heavy vehicles including dumpers, tankers and other large vehicles will be barred from entering the city on August 25 and 26. Authorities have urged transport operators and citizens to cooperate with traffic police.
