More widespread intermittent rain is predicted in Lahore and parts of Punjab on Thursday night and Friday.
Moderate to heavy snowfall is also expected in Murree and Galiyat during the forecast period.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a strong westerly wave is currently prevailing over most parts of Pakistan. It will persist in the upper parts till Friday.
Under these conditions, more widespread intermittent rain is predicted in Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Attock, Chakwal, Talagang, Sargodha, Hafizabad, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Mandi Bahauddin, Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Nankana Sahib, Sheikhupura, Faisalabad, Chiniot, Jhang, Mianwali, Khushab, Noorpur Thal, Layyah, Bhakkar, Kot Addu, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Multan, Khanewal, Sahiwal, Pakpattan, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Rahim Yar Khan, Khanpur and Muzaffargarh on Thursday night.
Heavy rain/hailstorm may also occur at a few places in the upper districts. Intermittent rain with moderate to heavy snowfall is likely in Murree and Galiyat.
On Friday, more intermittent rain is expected in Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Attock, Chakwal, Talagang, Sargodha, Hafizabad, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Mandi Bahauddin, Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Nankana Sahib, Sheikhupura, Faisalabad and Chiniot.
Heavy rain/hailstorms may also occur in the northeastern districts during the period. Freezing & cloudy weather with rain and snowfall is likely in Murree and Galiyat. Moderate to heavy rain/snow may occur during the morning hours.
Heavy rain/snowfall may cause road closures/ slippery conditions in Murree and Galiyat. Tourists are advised to remain extra cautious and avoid unnecessary travel during the forecast period.
Lahore’s minimum temperature will likely remain between 05°C and 07°C on Friday, between 06°C and 08°C on Saturday and between 05°C and 07°C on Sunday.
Meanwhile, scattered rain occurred in parts of Punjab during the last 24 hours.

Murree remained the coldest place in Punjab, where the temperature dropped 02°C below the freezing point. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 57 per cent.
In Lahore, the minimum temperature was recorded at 06°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 54 per cent.
