Lahore bans kite flying in parks, green belts ahead of Basant celebrations

LAHORE –  The Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) on Thursday imposed a ban on kite flying in all public parks, green belts and landscaped areas across Lahore.

The PHA issued strict instructions for its officials to ensure full compliance with the directive.

The decision has been taken at the moment when preparations for Basant celebrations are in full swing in the provincial capital. The safety rods are being installed on motorcycles.

An official notification circulated to all zone directors made it clear that the authority directed them to enforce the ban in their respective jurisdictions and ensure that no violations occured within the parks under their supervision.

The notification warned that any failure to implement the orders would result in the departmental action.
