Murree Pakistans Tourist Destination Weather Snowfall Update Temperature

RAWALPINDI – The Punjab government has issued guidelines as Murree, the one of the most-visited tourist place, braces for significant snowfall due to the influence of a western weather system.

The forecast predicts that Murree will experience between 12 to 20 inches of snow, accompanied by rainfall, over the next two days (Thursday-Saturday).

Punjab Minister for Communications Malik Sohaib Ahmad Bherth visited Murree to oversee the arrangements. He chaired a meeting with the district administration to review the preparations for handling the expected snowfall, road clearance, and the potential threat of landslides.

The briefing revealed that the weather conditions are expected to worsen in the coming days, with heavy snow and rain predicted for Murree.

The authorities have been tasked with identifying sensitive areas, including highways and high-risk points, and ensuring continuous monitoring of vehicles entering Murree.

Minister Bherth stressed the importance of a swift response to any emergencies and directed the teams to maintain constant communication with the Pakistan Meteorological Department for timely updates.

He also inspected various roads and visited salt camps and tourist facilitation centers to evaluate the readiness of machinery for snow removal.

The provincial minister emphasized that the Punjab government is fully committed to providing facilities to both tourists and the local population.

He stated that a comprehensive strategy is being developed to manage the snowstorm, with coordination between the Highway Department, District Administration, Traffic Police, Rescue 1122, and other agencies.

Minister Bherth also assured that ample stock of salt is available, and all 13 tourist facilitation centers in Murree are fully operational to support visitors.

Senior officials, including the Deputy Commissioner of Murree, Assistant Commissioner, Highway Department, and Mechanical Wing officers, were present during the inspection.
