The spokesperson for the Karachi Water & Sewerage Board (KW&SC) announced ongoing rapid repair work on the Hub Canal, set to be completed within the next 48 hours. Despite facing challenges posed by rainwater, the emergency repair directive from the KW&SC CEO is being diligently executed.
The spokesperson mentioned that difficulties arose due to heavy rain affecting the repair work on the canal. Consequently, water supply from the Hub Canal has been temporarily suspended in District West and District Keamari. However, an alternative water supply is being provided through the K-3 line in these areas.
The crack in the Hub Canal occurred due to heavy rain and a subsequent power breakdown at the Hub Pumping Station. In response, the KW&SC is actively addressing the repair, ensuring a swift resolution to restore regular water supply to affected districts.
