K-Electric (KE), with the assistance of law-enforcement agencies, has dismantled over 2,000 kilograms of illegal underground power connections in North Karachi and Gadap. These illegal connections, commonly known as kundas, were responsible for the theft of approximately 800,000 to 900,000 units of electricity every month. The kunda connections, installed through nullahs (drainage systems), posed serious safety risks by bypassing standard safety protocols, endangering both KE’s infrastructure and the local community.
