JSMU marks World Physiotherapy Day

\Staff ReporterInstitute of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation (IPTR) of Jinnah Sindh Medical University (JSMU) hosted a seminar on to commemorate World Physiotherapy Day.ProfessorAmjadSirajMemon, Vice Chancellor of Jinnah Sindh Medical University, emphasized    the importance of physiotherapy.

He highlighted that physiotherapy is the key that unlocks the body’s potential for strength and resilience. Furthermore, he acknowledged the dedication of physiotherapists, noting they touch lives and restore hope of the patients.ProfessorAzhar Mughal, Dean of Basic Medical Sciences- JSMU, said  that physiotherapy is not merely a destination but a lifelong journey of self-care and self-improvement. He shared the information on increasing employment opportunities in Arab and Western countries for physiotherapistsDr. Mohammad Khan, Director IPTR-JSMU, explained the importance of physiotherapy and shared his experiences from the National Health Service (NHS).

He emphasized the “Never Push with Pain” phenomenon and the benefits of clinical exposure. Dr. Khan educated students about the extent to which physiotherapists can exercise with arthritis.Dr. Azam Khan, Registrar JSMU, highlighted the significance of physiotherapists in society, stating that while doctors save lives, physiotherapists make those lives worth living.

He expressed his optimism for the first upcoming graduating batch of IPTR and concluded his speech with the statement, “Physiotherapy is the bridge between Injury and Victory. “Dr. Muhammad Fahad, clinical Instructor at IPTR-JSMU, expressed gratitude to the students for their participation and the faculty for organizing such a successful event.
