Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi chief Engr Hafiz Naeemur Rehman on Thursday held a press conference over the recent anti encroachment operation, requesting the judiciary to issue orders for alternative f land for the affected people and to bring those officials involved in foul practice to justice.
Addressing the press conference at Idara Noor-e-Haq, the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi chief Engr Hafiz Naeemur Rehman leader said that enormous encroachment has been witnessed in Karachi during the past four decades.
He held the political governments, dictators and bureaucracy equally responsible for the encroachment in Karachi.
The JI leader requested the court to order for a detailed enquiry and bring all the responsibles to full justice.
Further elaborating his view point, the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi chief Engr Hafiz Naeemur Rehman leader said that in majority of cases, the Sindh government had declared the illegal plotting as authorized.
He said that the JI will not let the affected people alone and will become a party in the case.
He said that Karachi has become a mess because of the flawed policies of the corrupt ruling regime.
The JI leader added that the flawed results of the last census have increased the issues of Karachi in many folds.
He added that only 210 union committees for Karachi out of the total 1500 across Sindh was a sheer injustice.
Karachi is home to some 30 million people but it was showed as half, he said adding that even if we consider the population as shown in the census, the number of union councils should be 700 and not 210.
On the occasion, he announced the next phase of Karachi Rights Movement to be commenced after EidulAzha.
During the phase, the Sindh Chief Minister House will be cordoned off in protest against injustices to Karachi.
