Islamabad, Rawalpindi Weather: Rain Expected This Weekend

Intermittent monsoon rains with isolated heavy downpours and hailstorms are expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and parts of Pakistan through the weekend (Saturday and Sunday).

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan. A Westerly wave is approaching the upper parts of the country.

Under these conditions, intermittent monsoon rains with isolated heavy downpours and hailstorms are expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, upper/central Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pothohar region, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir on Saturday and Sunday (weekend). 

Islamabad’s daytime temperatures are expected to remain between 34°C and 36°C on Saturday and between 35°C and 37°C on Sunday.

Rawalpindi’s daytime temperatures are expected to remain between 33°C and 35°C on Saturday and between 34°C and 36°C on Sunday.

Over the past 24 hours, mainly hot and humid weather prevailed over most parts of the country. Partly cloudy weather prevailed over the northern areas. Kalam received 02mm and Parachinar 01 mm of rain.

Islamabad recorded a maximum temperature of 36°C with evening humidity at 63 per cent.

Rawalpindi recorded a maximum temperature of 35°C with morning humidity at 55 per cent.
