NEW DELHI – A video circulating on social media went viral like crazy and it appeared in top searches. The 19-minute clip was of a young couple who went viral with their lewd acts, and now authorities stepped in with warning.
A shocking 19-minute video showing intimate acts has taken social media by storm since late November, triggering widespread panic and legal warnings. The clip, clocking in at 19 minutes and 34 seconds, continues to spread rapidly across messaging platforms, despite repeated advisories from authorities.
Indian Police have not shared details whether the viral clip was intentionally recorded, leaked, or created using AI. However, Cyber Cell experts strongly suspect AI manipulation.
Indian Cyber Cell officcials revealed that probe indicate viral clip is “AI-generated.” He also warned that additional clips circulating as “Part 2” and “Part 3” appear to be artificially created as well. Users are being urged to check suspicious videos using AI-detection tools like Sightengine and immediately stop forwarding, uploading, or storing them.
Cyber Cell issued a stark warning, sharing intimate or explicit content even AI-generated, can result in harsh criminal penalties under Indian law. As per Indian acts, you can get up to 3 years in jail aur half million fine for sharing obscene content.
Additionally, IPC Sections 292, 293, and 354C, covering obscenity and privacy violations, may also apply. Authorities stressed that knowingly forwarding such material is a criminal act, regardless of whether the sender created it.
Police and cyber media experts urged masses to avoid downloading the video, and not to forward as received.
Officials clarified that the warning was necessary as users continued to circulate the video despite growing concerns over legality, privacy, and AI-generated content online. Authorities warn that even casual forwarding could have life-altering consequences, including jail time.
