In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism martyred one Kashmiri youth in Islamabad district, today.
The troops martyred the youth during a cordon and search operation in Arwani area of the district. The troops blocked all entry and exit points of Ar-wani, subjecting the local residents to huge incon-venience. The occupation authorities suspended the internet and mobile services in the area.
The occupation authorities disallowed the peo-ple to offer Juma prayers, today, at historic Jamia Masjid in Srinagar for the 20th consecutive week. The Anjuman Auqaf of the Jamia Masjid in a state-ment termed the authorities’ action as sheer interfer-ence in the religious affairs of the Muslims.
Meanwhile, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar hailed the British parliamentarians for expressing alarm over the human rights violations including fake encounters by Indian troops in IIOJK. He urged the UK government to impress upon India to stop geno-cide, extrajudicial killings, illegal detentions and other rights’ abuses in the occupied territory.
Indian police through the advertisements pub-lished on the front pages of local dailies of IIOJK have warned the social media users of cases under draconian law, Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. The main motive behind the advertisements is to intimidate the freedom-loving Kashmiris and force them not to highlight the Indian forces’ acts of state terrorism in the occupied territory.
Peoples Democratic Party President, Mehbooba Mufti, addressing a gathering in RS Pura area of Jammu region said Narendra Modi-led Indian gov-ernment was resorting to arm-twisting measures with heavy military presence on the ground, deny-ing fundamental rights to people and enforcing the Hindutva ideology in the occupied territory.
On the other hand, the UN human rights experts in a statement issued in Geneva have called upon the Indian authorities to release the noted Kashmiri human rights defender, Khurram Parvez. The state-ment issued by the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights was signed by the rights experts, Luciano Hazan, Aua Baldé, Tae-Ung Baik, Gabriella Citroni, Henrikas Micke-vičius, Mary Lawlor, Fionnuala Ní Aoláin, and Morris Tidball-Binz. Noted British musician, Roger Waters, in a twitter message called out Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, for the arrest of Khurram Parvez. Re-tweeting a tweet, he wrote, “Hey Modi, leave Khurram alone!”
In India, a Hindu mob severely beat up a Mus-lim youth, Khustar Ansari, after hanging him upside down from a tree in Palamu district of Jharkhand state. Indian civil society activists have expressed outrage over the inflammatory speeches of Hindutva members, who called for genocide of Muslims at an event in the Haridwar city of the Indian state of Uttarakhand.
