Indian troops killing innocent Kashmiris for promotions: Behl

In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Advocate Devinder Singh Behl, leader of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference and Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Social Peace Forum, has ex-pressed grave concern over the growing Indian state terrorism in the occupied territory.

Devinder Singh in a statement issued in Jammu said that despite severe cold weather in the occupied territory, Indian troops during their continued cor-don and search operations arrest Kashmiri youth and send them to jails.

He said that Indian army is violating human rights and international law due to unbridled powers it enjoys under black laws. He said that the troops are killing innocent Kashmiris for promotions and rewards.

Devinder Singh said that Kashmir is an interna-tionally recognized dispute and India is bound to abide by its commitment to resolve the dispute ac-cording to the wishes of the Kashmiri people.

He urged India to initiate meaningful dialogue with Pakistan for a just solution to the Kashmir issue. —KMS
