PANJGUR — Five terrorists of Fitna Al Hindustan were killed during high-tempo, intelligence-led counter-terrorism operation in Panjgur district, security officials said, in the latest action against militant networks operating in Balochistan.
The operation was launched on the basis of actionable intelligence and resulted in the recovery of a substantial cache of weapons, ammunition and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) from the area. The recovered material was subsequently destroyed.
Security personnel conducted extensive sanitization operations following the engagement to detect and eliminate any remaining threats, officials said.
The operation comes amid an intensified counter-terrorism campaign under “Azm-e-Istehkam,” the framework approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan. Pakistani authorities have vowed to maintain sustained pressure on what they describe as foreign-sponsored and foreign-supported terrorist elements.
Security forces and law-enforcement agencies continue intelligence-driven operations across Balochistan as part of efforts to dismantle militant networks, disrupt their operational capabilities and prevent further attacks.
Pakistan’s security forces have intensified Operation Radd-ul-Fitna-3 across Balochistan, conducting intelligence-based operations in Mastung, Bolan, Washuk, Awaran, Sibi, Khuzdar, Harnai and Nushki.
Security officials reported 15 suspected militants killed in the eight districts, followed by a separate operation in Panjgur where five more suspected militants were reportedly killed. Authorities said weapons, ammunition, machine guns, heavy weapons and four motorcycles were recovered.
Another operation in Kambela and Asimabad reportedly covered around 68 square kilometres, leaving three suspected militants dead, two bodies recovered and four others wounded. Security sources identified one of the injured as alleged militant commander Shaukat Mama.
Pakistani authorities claimed hitting militants or terrorists and have linked some of the broader threat to groups including the TTP. Foreign-support allegations made by Pakistani authorities remain disputed.
The offensive comes amid a sharp deterioration in Balochistan’s security situation during 2026. Radd-ul-Fitna-3 is separate from the 2017 nationwide Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad and remains ongoing, meaning casualty and recovery figures could change as further operations are conducted.
