Kuch Dekha Kuch Suna’ explores political, social and cultural history

The autobiography Kuch Dekha Kuch Suna by renowned civil servant Muhammad Ilyas Lodhi was formally launched at a ceremony held at the Jalal Baba Auditorium in Abbottabad on Thursday. Muhammad Ilyas Lodhi is the son of Maulana Muhammad Ishaq Lodhi, who served as the “Khateeb-e-Hazara” and devoted nearly five decades to spreading religious and educational knowledge in the Hazara region.

The ceremony was presided over by former chief minister and governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and former federal minister Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Khan Abbasi. Ilyas Lodhis Autobiography Launched In Abbottabad

The event began with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Qari Abu Bakr, while Asad Lodhi presented Naat Sharif to pay homage to Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH). Among the speakers were Muhammad Ilyas Lodhi’s granddaughter Alsa Lodhi, advocate Kamran Ahmed Qureshi, publisher Zahid Kazmi, Haji Ghulam Basit, retired Wing Commander Ayaz Khan Jadoon, former Federal Board of Revenue member Sardar Aminullah Khan, former MNA Nawabzada Salahuddin Saeed, Shehzada Gustasap Khan and Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Khan Abbasi. The ceremony was moderated by Dr Qamar Zaman. Speakers paid tribute to Muhammad Ilyas Lodhi and described his autobiography as a valuable contribution to biographical literature. They said the book could serve as a source of guidance and inspiration for the younger generation.

They said that Kuch Dekha Kuch Suna covers a wide range of historical, political, social, intellectual and literary subjects. The book also documents the culture, traditions and social practices of the era witnessed by the author, making it an impo record of its time. A large number of scholars, writers, political and social figures, religious scholars, lawyers and people from other walks of life attended the event.

The other prominent attendees included educationist, poet and social activist Wahid Siraj, former MPA Mufti Kifayatullah, former Additional Inspector General of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Khalid Masood, retired General Ayaz Saleem Rana, former provincial secretary Attaur Rehman Lodhi, former Director General Health FATA Dr Zafeer Ahmed and Sardar Azam.

The ceremony provided an opportunity for participants to acknowledge Lodhi’s professional and literary contributions and discuss the historical and cultural significance of his autobiography.
