High Court quashes PSA detention of Pulwama resident

In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the High Court has quashed a detention order against a Pulwama resident, who was booked under draconian Public Safety Act (PSA) in 2019.

The division bench comprising Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur and Justice Sanjay Dhar set aside a single bench judgement and overturned detention of Riyaz Ahmad Butt of Pulwama district.

The bench directed the authorities to immediately release the detainee if he is not required in connection with any other case.—KMS
