LAHORE—The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) sealed 51 illegal commercial buildings and commercialisation fee defaulter premises in LDA-controlled areas and different housing schemes on Friday.
LDA’s Town Planning Wing sealed 16 buildings in New Garden Town and Model Town, 10 in Samanabad, 12 in Mustafa Town, and 13 on Ferozepur Road during operations against illegal commercial use and nonpayment of commercialisation fees.
The sealed premises include Hafiz Sweets & Bakers, Malmo Bakers & Sweets, Domino Pizza, Biryani Master, Al-Sibgha School, The Merit School, London Academic Plan School (LAPS) Franchise, Sigma Academy, Paradise Academy & School, Gallant Builders & Developers, Bilqees Sarwar Hospital, marquee, salons, grocery stores, food outlets, workshops, offices, and other businesses.
LDA Chief Town Planner I, Assad-uz-Zaman, and Chief Town Planner II, Azhar Ali, supervised the operations carried out by the enforcement teams, assisted by the Police.
According to LDA officials, several notices were served on the owners of these buildings before the operations were carried out.
LDA Director General Tahir Farooq has directed continuing indiscriminate operations against violations of bylaws, illegal commercial buildings, and non-payment of commercialisation fees in housing schemes and LDA-controlled areas.
