RIYADH – Faith, unity, and Tawheed (the oneness of Allah SWT), remained central themes of Hajj Sermon by Grand Mosque Imam Sheikh Dr. Humaid.

Imam of Grand Mosque delivered spiritually charged sermon at Masjid Namirah in Arafat as millions of pilgrims gathered for Hajj climax. In his sermon, the senior cleric called on Ummah to return to essence of Islamic faith— (taqwa), sincere worship, and strong moral conduct, reminding masses that worship is due to Allah alone and emphasized that no prophet or righteous person is worthy of being worshipped besides Him.

Islam has been chosen as the path for humanity, and Tawheed remains its unwavering foundation, he said as the sermon covers prayer (salah), fasting (sawm), zakat (charity), and pilgrimage (Hajj). He described prayer as sacred connection between believer and Allah and means of fostering unity when performed in gathering.

He urged Muslims to uphold virtues like modesty, patience, and gratitude, stressing kindness toward parents, orphans, neighbors, and underprivileged, while warning against moral pitfalls like gossip (gheebah), religious innovation (bid’ah), and falling into Satan’s deception.

“Good and evil are not the same,” he reminded worshippers. “Responding to harm with goodness has the power to turn enemies into friends.”

Imam reaffirmed belief in all the prophets, stating that the Prophet Muhammad SAW was sent as a mercy to all humanity and that his coming was foretold in earlier scriptures.

He also prayed for Palestine, urging Muslims to provide for hungry, shield the oppressed. Sheikh Dr. Humaid also expressed deep appreciation to the Saudi leadership for their efforts in organizing and facilitating the pilgrimage.
