Four IUB students get US scholarships

Four PhD scholars from the Department of Media Studies, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB) have received scholarships for the best universities in the United States under the Higher Education Commission’s International Research Support Initiative program.

This is the first time in the history of media studies that four students studying in his PhD program have received URS scholarships while this is also the first time in the history of the university that four PhD students of a department have been given back.

Three of the four scholars, Hassan Naseer Sindhu, Rasheed Babar and Asadullah Shakor, have been approved for scholarships in the College of Media at the American University of Illinois Urbana, while Waqas Mahmood has been approved for scholarships in the Department of Communication and Media Studies at the University of Michigan Ann Arbor.
All four scholars thanked the department and the University for their Cooperation.

Chairman Media Studies Prof. Dr. Abdul Wajid Khan and the Faculty congratulated the PhD Scholars and hoped that these students would bring a good name to the Department.
