The General Directorate of Disaster Management and Firefighting in Kabul announced an increase in its stations in the capital.

Mohammad Ewaz Abu Bakr, the deputy of training at the General Directorate of Disaster Management and Firefighting, added that with the increase of these stations, the handling of natural and unnatural incidents will be expedited.

The deputy of training at the General Directorate, said: “We plan to increase the number of stations because the city has expanded. The reality is that the current stations we have in Kabul are not sufficient, and we cannot manage because of this shortage. In the future, we plan to increase the number of stations in the districts of Kabul and in other provinces.”

He added in part of his speech that in the past year, nearly two thousand natural and unnatural incidents have been registered with them.

Mohammad Awaiz Abu Bakr, the deputy of training at the General Directorate of Disaster Management and Firefighting, said, “Last year, approximately one thousand eight hundred and eight incidents occurred nationwide that have been registered by our employees who were in Kabul and other provinces.”

A number of citizens of the country are optimistic about the firefighting activities and emphasized that this directorate should strive more in their work sector.

“Our request from the General Directorate of Disaster Management and Firefighting is that if an incident occurs, they should arrive on time to serve the city, meaning not only in Kabul but stations should be increased in all thirty-four provinces,” said Shafiqullah, a Kabul resident.

“There must be firefighting services that arrive promptly to prevent fires; otherwise, fires will increase and cause more damage,” said Wakil, another Kabul resident.

Officials in the General Directorate of Disaster Management and Firefighting also reported an increase in equipment and personnel to provide more facilities in Kabul and other provinces.—Tolonews
