Chairman & CEO of Pakistan Observer, Mr Faisal Zahid Malik on Friday called on the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Dr Reza Amiri Moghadam and expressed his heartfelt condolences over the loss of lives in the twin blasts in the Southern Iranian city of Kerman. As many as 84 people lost their lives while 250 were wounded in the deadly blasts.

Mr Faisal Malik while expressing condolences with Ambassador Reza Moghadam condemned the cowardly attack and expressed solidarity with the people and the government of Iran in this moment of grief.

Pakistan enjoys a deep bond of fraternity and shares similar religious, culture and traditional values. The fact that both the countries share borders makes this bond further stronger, he said. In this background, the pain of the people of Iran is deeply felt and shared on this side of the border also, he said and assured the Excellency Pakistan Observer would continue to highlight the mutual efforts undertaken by the governments of Pakistan and Iran to counter the menace of terrorism.

In the past, Pakistan too has been a victim of such attacks he said adding it is a big challenge even today. Terrorists, he said, have no faith, no religion and no respect for human life. The fact that innocent men, women and children were observing the death anniversary of a highly respected Iranian general makes this attack all the more vicious, he said.

The Iranian ambassador while expressing gratitude to the Chairman of the Pakistan Observer appreciated his concerns. While praising the role of Pakistan Observer in promoting Pak-Iran relations in diverse sectors, the ambassador held, “The media cooperation between the two countries will certainly lead to further cooperation in other directions.”
