ISLAMABAD – Sarhad University Islamabad campus witnessed intense protests amid reported clash between Lt Colonel Asfandyar, his wife and students, with a wave of claims circulating online that protesting students had been expelled and that the body of a student linked to the university had been found in Islamabad.
The university administration now stepped in to clear air, calling the reports false and baseless. Journalist Syed Zeeshan Aziz reportedly approached Sarhad University Campus Director Dr. Nadeem to verify reports that students who participated in the protest had been removed from the university.
Dr. Nadeem reportedly made it clear that no student has been expelled so far, rejecting the reports as completely false.

The campus director said the university is currently conducting an inquiry into the incident, with investigations involving both students and management still underway. He added that no action has yet been taken against the students.
The controversy took another dramatic turn when questions were also raised over reports claiming that the body of a student had been recovered from Islamabad and that the deceased was allegedly associated with Sarhad University. Dr. Nadeem strongly denied the claim, describing it as completely baseless and stating that no such incident had occurred involving any student of Sarhad University.
For now, the administration maintains that neither have protesting students been expelled nor has any Sarhad University student been found dead, while the inquiry into the confrontation between Colonel Asfandyar and students remains in progress.
Sarhad University Clash
The confrontation at Chattha Bakhtawar campus occurred due to student protest over university-related issues. A uniformed officer, identified in reports as Lt Col Asfandyar Wali, reportedly confronted the protesters, leading to a physical altercation.
Videos circulated online appeared to show the officer using a stick, later pulling out a pistol and firing shots into the air before police intervened and escorted him away. Accounts differ over what triggered the confrontation, with reports citing allegations of harassment involving the officer’s wife, while students accused him of using force against protesters. A military inquiry was subsequently initiated.
