KARACHI – Sindh Home Department rejected authenticity of a viral notification circulating on social media that falsely claimed an “Immediate Security Alert Increased Threat Level” had been declared across the province.
In an official press release issued on Wednesday, the department confirmed that the document titled “Immediate Security Alert Increased Threat Level from 12 to 30 November 2025” is entirely fake and fabricated.
Officials clarified that the forged notice was wrongly attributed to the Additional Chief Secretary (Home) and carried a fictitious reference number (HD/Sec/Clarification-11/2025). It emphasized that no such notification or correspondence has been issued by the Home Department or any law enforcement agency under its supervision.
Reaffirming its position, the department reminded the public that all genuine security advisories and alerts are shared solely through official channels of the Home Department or duly authorized security bodies.
“Any document or message circulated outside these official platforms should be considered false and misleading,” the clarification stated.
Public Advised to Avoid Spreading False Information
The Home Department urged citizens and media organizations to refrain from forwarding or relying on unverified messages on social media or messaging platforms, noting that such misinformation can cause unnecessary alarm.
It further advised the public to verify any government-related communication directly from official government sources before taking any action or sharing it further.
The clarification was signed by Nazeer Hussain Magsi, Section Officer (IS), Home Department, Government of Sindh.
