Ex-Ghani Adviser Habibullah Ahmadzai returns to country

According to data from the commission, more than 150 political figures have already returned to the country.

Following the arrival of other former government officials and political figures, Habibullah Ahmadzai, the former president’s adviser, and Hasibullah Kalimzai, the Senate’s second deputy, as well as a cancer specialist named Abdul Wardak all returned today.

“Afghanistan is our homeland and we cannot live without it.

Our dignity is in this homeland. those friends who are abroad believe that they should return to the country,” said Habibullah Ahmadzai, adviser to the former president.

“In my opinion, those who have committed crimes shouldn’t be forgiven and should be held accountable, including us,” said Habibullah Kalimzai, former 2nd deputy leader of the Senate.

“I was in the profession of teaching physicians. I specialize in cancer operations. Now that I have come to the country, I’ll see what I can do,” said Abdullah Wardak, physician.

Meanwhile, officials of the “Commission for the Return and Communications with Former Afghan Officials and Political Figures” said that a number of other former government figures will return to the country in the near future.

“The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has its own norms and processes in the area of governance, and anyone returning to the country in accordance with those procedures may engage in political activity,” said Mawlawi Zaker, head of the Secretariat of the Commission.

According to data from the “Commission for the Return and Communications with Former Afghan Officials and Political Figures,” more than 150 political figures have already returned to the country.—Tolo News
