LAHORE – The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) on Tuesday demolished/sealed 17 illegal buildings in Lahore.
The LDA teams demolished three buildings on Defense Road, Pine Avenue and Johar Town for violation of bylaws. LDA teams sealed 14 premises in Johar Town, BOR Society and adjoining housing schemes for violation of building bylaws and illegal commercial use.
The demolished/sealed premises included Enaari store, grocery shop, and private offices.
As per the LDA officials, several notices were served to these buildings’ owners before carrying out the operation.
LDA Director Town Planning-IV Ali Nusrat supervised the operation which was carried out by enforcement teams with the help of heavy machinery and Police. LDA Director General Tahir Farooq has directed continuing indiscriminate operations against violation of building and parking bylaws, encroachments and illegal commercial use in Lahore.
