KARACHI – Re-polling is underway in more than 50 polling stations across three national and provincial on Thursday, where the voting was suspended after polling material was damaged in separate incidents during Feb 8 general elections.

Last week, the commission withheld the results in NA-88 Khushab, PS-18 Ghotki-I, and PK-90 Kohat-I constituencies due to the wastage of polling materials.

The Commission ordered re-polling in 26 polling stations of NA-88,following the burning of polling material by a crowd at the Returning Officer’s office.

It also ordered re-polling at two polling stations in the PS-18 Ghotki-I after unidentified men had snatched and burned polling material there on Feb. 8. Similarly, the ECP had ordered re-polling in 25 polling stations of PK-90 Kohat-I where the polling material was damaged by assailants.

The results of these constituencies will be announced after polling concludes today.
