Effective justice system vital to control crimes: IGP

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh RiffatMukhtar Raja on Wednesday visited Sindh High Court Bar.  Upon his arrival at the High Court Bar, he was received by President Bar Council Muhammad SaleemMangrio and Honorary Secretary Amir Nawaz Warraich.  In the meeting, the President and Honorary Secretary High Court Bar discussed various issues.

The IGP Sindh on the occasion said it was necessary to make the criminal justice system strong and effective in order to solve crimes.  He said along with its operational capabilities, the police was moving forward keeping in mind the innovation in investigative matters and measures. By doing this, on the one hand, the measures like research and investigation are strengthened, on the other hand, due to solid evidence and challan, the punishment of the arrested accused by the respective courts is also ensured.  RiffatMukhtar said as the chief of Sindh Police, his mission was to serve the people as much as possible and to make the police a friend and servant of the people in the true sense.

The Sindh Police on Wednesday rejected the rumors circulating on social media regarding threats to the law and order situation in the megalopolis. The police spokesmen   termed the viral news, regarding any possible threats to law and order situation, as fake and a mere propaganda. The citizens were appealed not to pay heed to any such fake news and also not to spread them, headded.Earlier, a message was circulating over social media according to which there were threats to peace of the city.

The said message further read “Some miscreants, who apparently are non-natives were spotted by a number of people in suspicious vehicles carrying heavy arms and ammunition and the next 72 hours were most sensitive for the city.” Besides the news also mentioned the names of different city areas. However, terming the message to be fake, Additional IGP Karachi KhadimHussain Rind said the message was a nefarious tactic of evil elements, people should never pay attention to such rumours.  Police and law enforcement agencies were taking all measures to maintain complete control over the law and order situation at the provincial level and especially in Karachi through cooperation and strategy.
