KARACHI – The Dumper Truck Transport Owners Association on Wednesday announced that it would not take part in the lifting of animal entrails in Karachi during Eidul Adha, citing the repeated incidents of violence and lack of compensation from the authorities.

In a video statement, Association President Liaqat Mehsood, said the decision was taken in protest against the burning of 20 to 25 dumper trucks by miscreants in recent months.

“Despite repeated appeals, no compensation has been provided so far,” he said. “I have submitted written complaints to the Karachi commissioner and all concerned departments, but no action has been taken.”

He accused the Sindh government and local bodies of injustice and neglect, saying the dumper transport sector had been unfairly targeted and ignored.

The boycott decision comes amid heightened tensions in the city following a series of fatal accidents involving dumpers and tankers. In reaction to those incidents, several vehicles were torched by angry mobs, adding to the challenges faced by the transporters.

The association’s refusal to participate in the offal removal drive may affect cleanliness operations during Eid, when large amounts of waste are generated across the city.
