Divisional directors to ensure supply of quality agricultural inputs in market: Nadir

It is very important to cultivate wheat and achieve the production target to ensure food security. This year, 1.60 million acres of land is being brought under wheat cultivation in Punjab, for which the officers and staff of Agriculture Extension will engaged in fields alongwith farmers from cultivation to harvesting. This was said by Secretary Agriculture, Punjab Nadir Chattha while presiding over a review meeting on wheat cultivation and provision of quality agricultural inputs.

In the meeting, Director General Agriculture (Extension) Dr. Ishtiaq Hassan, Director General Agriculture Field Engineer Ahmed Sohail, Director Adaptive Research Chaudhry Mushtaq, Director Agriculture Extension Headquarters Farooq Javed, Director Agriculture Division Sher Muhammad Sharawat and Director Agricultural Information, Punjab Rai Mudassar Abbas and other officers participated.

The secretary directed all the divisional directors to ensure supply of quality agricultural inputs in the market during wheat cultivation.

On this occasion, Secretary Agriculture also instructed the farm managers of the agricultural farms managed by the department to give a detailed briefing on their achievements in order to improve the performance of these agricultural farms.

He further said that print for the technical guidance of the farmers. Awareness is being provided through electronic and digital media so that the farmers cultivate the varieties approved by the Department of Agriculture and play their national role in the “Grow More Wheat Campaign” by increasing the production of wheat per acre.
