Estranged Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Daniyal Aziz was taken into custody from Shakargarh, his wife said on Thursday.
Daniyal Aziz, who remains at odds with his party ahead of elections, was shifted from Saniari Morre area of Shakargarh. Cops detained him and shifted him to an unknown place.
His detention comes during the general elections in Pakistan. The former minister was met with dramatic confrontation as his wife accused political opponents for the action.
The wife of the dissent leader raised questions at reasons behind his dramatic arrest. In a clip, Mehnaz Aziz said Daniyal was also subjected to assault by arresting officers.

Police or other law enforcement authorities have yet to release an official statement regarding the incident.
