CTD arrests 9 terrorists

The Counter Terrorism Department of Punjab arrested nine terrorists, including two key commanders of a banned terrorist organization, during operations in different districts of the province on Wednesday.

The two commanders of banned group, identified as Amin and Waqar, were arrested during a major operation in a border village of Lahore. Officials said that the arrested terrorists were planning to target sensitive installations in the provincial capital.

The CTD also conducted operations in other cities of Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Nankana Sahib, Rahim Yar Khan, and Sheikhupura, during which seven terrorists were arrested. Explosive materials, mobile phones, weapons, and cash were recovered from their possession.

The officials said that the networks of arrested terrorists wanted to operate simultaneously in all cities. Cases have been registered against them, and an investigation has been started.
