Its time to gear up for aspiring civil servants as Federal Public Service Commission FPSC opens applications for preliminary test; and only MPT qualifiers will be allowed to appear in written CSS examination.
According to the FPSC public notice, candidates can submit their online applications for the MPT until August 20, 2026, while the preliminary test will be conducted on Sunday, September 27, 2026, across 19 cities nationwide.

The commission has made it clear that clearing the MPT will be compulsory for candidates seeking to appear in the CSS 2027 written examination, making the preliminary screening a key hurdle for aspirants aiming to join Pakistan’s civil bureaucracy.
Under the announced eligibility criteria, applicants must possess at least a second division bachelor’s degree, while the age limit for candidates has been set between 21 and 30 years.
FPSC said that candidates’ age, educational qualifications, and other eligibility conditions will be assessed according to the official cut-off date of December 31, 2026. The commission further stated that applications will only be accepted through the online portal, and candidates must submit the examination fee via PSID (Payment Slip ID).
FPSC advised applicants to carefully verify their eligibility before applying and ensure they fulfill all required conditions to avoid complications during the examination process.
