Couple commits suicide Three women killed in hostel blaze

Three women were killed and two others fell unconscious after a fire broke out in a private girls hostel on Raiwand Road here in the City.

According to rescue sources, three women identified as 22-year-old Neelum, 25-year-old Muneza and 42-year-old Rubeeka died of suffocation after a fire broke out in the hostel located on Raiwand. Two other girls residing in the hostel also fell unconscious due to the blaze.

The rescue and police team rushed to the site and shifted the bodies and injured to a nearby hospital. The rescue 1122 fire-fighters minimised the losses by dousing off the fire well in time.

Police have launched an investigation into the matter. Meanwhile, the police have ascertained identity of a couple, who allegedly had committed suicide at a private housing scheme in Nawab Town on Raiwind. The deceased couple was identified as: 26-year-old Hassan Raza and 24-year-old Kainat.

The police said that the bodies of both the man and woman were found from separate rooms of the house. The police have launched investigation after shifting the dead bodies to hospital for autopsy.
