The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has ordered commercial banks to extend banking hours on Saturday, October 31, 2026, to facilitate taxpayers in paying government duties and taxes.
Under the arrangement made on the request of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), all designated Saturday-opening branches of commercial banks will remain operational until 8:00 pm.
Banks have also been advised to keep the relevant branches open beyond regular hours, if necessary, to facilitate the National Institutional Facilitation Technologies (NIFT) special clearing of government receipts.
In addition, banks have been directed to ensure uninterrupted access to digital payment services, including internet banking, mobile banking applications, ATMs and other online platforms, enabling taxpayers to pay government dues conveniently.
