Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz paid tribute to former prime minister Benazir Bhutto in a special message issued on the occasion of her 73rd birth anniversary. The chief minister said that Benazir Bhutto was a symbol of democracy and political stability and rendered remarkable services for the democratic process in the country.
Maryam said that Benazir Bhutto played a significant role in ensuring the participation of women in politics and worked for greater representation of women in the political sphere. She observed that BB’s courage and commitment to democracy were unparalleled and de-scribed her as one of the most prominent figures in Pakistan’s political history. The CM paid a rich tribute to the late leader’s political services and said that her contributions to democracy and women’s empowerment would continue to be remembered.
